STAYING CONNECTED
Hello to all RelyLocal members! I hope that your businesses are doing well. I also hope that you like our new RelyLocal newsletter format that I hope will ultimately be easier for members to stay connected with RelyLocal and each other. We have also set up a new RelyLocal Owners Blog to help you stay informed year round with what we have going on to help promote local businesses in general, advertising packages, and important aspects of RelyLocal.com that many of you may not be aware of. The site will be constantly updated with important topics in the blog stream of the site as well. Be sure to subscribe to the site with your email to receive email notification when I add important information regarding all topics related to growing local businesses both online and offline.
2014 RECAP
2014 was a good break through year on many levels for RelyLocal as we established great partnerships for awareness. One of those was a partnership with ABC Television that equated into commercial time on ABC, The CW and The Heartland stations to promote the RelyLocal.com website and our mission to truly support small businesses. In October we entered into a partnership with Dixie Country 100.1 and started doing a live morning
RelyLocal radio show from 9am to 10am Monday through Friday interviewing our members. We also have negotiated with most other radio and television stations to allow RelyLocal to offer shared advertising packages to our members that will allow for your businesses to have the opportunity to have affordable advertising options in those mediums. And if that wasn't enough we have also kicked off the Montgomery RelyLocal territory that is now starting to get it's legs underneath it and has a very smart and talented owner in Scott Ferguson.
IN STORE FOR 2015
RelyLocal is like a bouncing ball. It has it's ups and downs and twists and turns just like any other business. I have learned a lot the past 4 years and the two most important things are:
- Communication is key. The bigger RelyLocal gets the more opportunities for small businesses arise. On the flip side of that, the bigger RelyLocal gets the harder it is to communicate with nearly 400 business owners. This new email format and owners blog is a small but integral part of the solution. Please take the time to bookmark and subscribe to the owners website to help me keep you informed of what RelyLocal is doing to add value to your membership.
- I can't please everyone. This is the hardest one to swallow. I take great pride in seeing RelyLocal through to reaching its full potential and having paying members satisfied with the work that is being done to make RelyLocal successful for it's members. To have one member not completely satisfied with what RelyLocal has accomplished for its members over the past 4 years is disheartening to say the least. You have my word that I always have, and always will continue to put my best foot forward to make RelyLocal a respected household name to the community and to local businesses. I want to be able to look back in 10 years and see what started out as a little website to promote small businesses became an integral part of breathing life back into the American Dream and making our community a financially healthier place to live and raise a family.
Thank all of you tremendously for your membership to RelyLocal. Please be sure to
